On the technical side, I hold both degrees in Telecommunications Engineering and Electronics Engineering (Universidad de Valladolid, Spain). On the humanist side, I hold a degree in History and Sciences of Music (Universidad de Granada, Spain).
At the crossroad between them, I hold MSc and PhD degrees in the field of Sound and Music Computing, obtained at the Music Technology Group (Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona). During my PhD studies, I spent five months at the Centre of Excellence in Interdisciplinary Music Research, Department of Music at University of Jyväskylä (Finland), conducting experiments on tonal perception and time. I also hold an MSc degree in Secondary School Teaching (mathematics).

As a practical musician, I define myself as a serious amateur. Aside my musicological background, I enjoy bowed string instruments and perform regularly as a choir singer. I'm a founder member of Gamelan Penempaan Guntur, a gamelan gong kebyar project hosted by Museu de la Música de Barcelona. I also collaborate with Taller Baschet d'Escultura Sonora at Universitat de Barcelona, revisiting and pushing forward Baschet's sound sculptures and philosophy through exhibitions, workshops and concerts. My musical interests are wide-ranging, particularly enjoying the theoretical-analytical and perceptual-psychological aspects of music experience. Many of my research inquiries about music gravitate around representation, contextual and time-scale implications of music phenomena over time, and about group dynamics in collective music performance.
On the professional side, I worked 5 years as a systems architect consultant for worldwide engineering companies, followed by 10 years as researcher within the Music Technology Group (MTG) at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF). Aside researching, I was visiting lecturer
at the Department of Communication and Information Tecnologies (DTIC), in charge of a number of undergraduate and graduate engineering courses. Currently, I'm devoted full time to education at highschools.
